Why not come along as a Visitor to one of our meetings and find out more about West Leicestershire u3a. You would be very welcome. As a Visitor you are welcome to attend 3 main or group meetings before deciding whether u3a is right for you.

Interest Groups - u3a members also benefit from being able to join any of a growing number of Interest Groups which cover a wide variety of subjects. Groups are set up and run by members who have a particular interest, where knowledge and skills are shared and interests developed. Groups meet in a variety of venues across the area. Each group covers their own costs to cover room/court hire etc. If you are looking for an activity that isn't yet on the list, it only takes 2+ members with a similar interest to start a new group.

Trips & Visits - a number of outings are organised throughout the year. Recent outings have included garden visits, brewery tours, pie making and regular canal trips. Outings are open to all members.

What is u3a?

u3a started in the UK in 1982 and is now a World-wide organisation with over 1000 locally run u3as in the UK. The aim is to bring people together with opportunities to explore new ideas, skills and activities in a fun way.

Each u3a is autonomous, run by a committee of volunteers who are elected annually. It is open to all people who are no longer in full time employment and has the motto Learn, Laugh, Live.
