The u3a has an informal style of learning with the ethos of members sharing their knowledge and skills in a relaxed way whilst having fun.
Groups meet regularly to study a common interest, with the style, format and content being agreed by consensus. Groups meet in a variety of venues to suit their needs and cover their own expenses (eg room hire). Each group has one or two main contacts who are not necessarily experts in a subject but are enthusiastic.
